This Land - Looking at a Country in Crisis

In November 2020, director Matthew Palmer sent documentary crews around the USA to take the pulse of a nation divided. The result is a look at how politics shapes us, how our history informs us, and how we grapple with disagreement. The film follows a gay couple voting for different candidates, a Native man fighting for his people in a country that dismisses him, and a rodeo clown trying to do right by his family. Palmer’s goal was to show the humanity behind the partisan issues facing us all.
